According to Kuaitech, recently, Kioxia showcased a new "AI SSD" that boosts random performance to the 10 million level, which is three to four times the current level. Kioxia AI SSD adopts a brand-new main controller, which is specifically optimized to enhance random access. Under 512B, it can exceed 10 million, enabling the GPU to access data efficiently and maintain a 100% utilization rate at all times.

In terms of flash memory, Kioxia AI SSD uses XL flash memory based on single-layer SLC, with a read latency of only 3 to 5 milliseconds, while traditional 3D TLC/QLC flash memory can only achieve 40 to 10 milliseconds. Kioxia expects that the finished AI SSD will be available in the second half of 2026.
